Bo is a native of Virginia. Born in Norfolk, raised in Roanoke, and lived in Arlington for close to 20 years before moving to Carolina Forest in 2003. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in environmental and urban studies; and then earned his master’s degree in architecture and urban design.
His career has included architecture, urban planning, and shopping center development. His priorities are family, the environment, and community involvement. As to why he chose Carolina Forest, he explains, “For me, this was realizing the ability to live next to nature as we live on a Carolina Bay.”
Now retired, Bo is extensively involved in community service. He is the current Chair for the Horry County and Georgetown County Sierra Club; sits on the Horry County Zoning Board of Appeals; sits on the Citizens’ Advisory Committee to Coast RTA; is Chair of Avalon’s Finance Committee; served as an officer for the Carolina Forest Chapter of Wildlife Action, and is currently Sr. Vice President for the Environment for Wildlife Action Inc.; and, is Chair of the Carolina Forest Civic Association’s Legislative Committee. Bo joined the CFCA Board of Directors in 2011.
